Cultures for silage

Natural silage fermentations without the use of Silage Cultures are not always successful. Adverse weather conditions combined with low sugar contents in the crop, low levels of lactic cultures on the crop are inefficient at converting sugars to lactic acid. It is important that the pH of the silage is rapidly lowered to ensure that the growth of the main spoilage bacteria like Clostridium and E.coli is prevented.

Producing high-quality feed for dairy and beef cattle starts with good forage management. Our silage cultures, are used to help produce high-quality forage and thus enhance animal production. They are often used as an adjunct or alternative to chemical products. Our silage cultures contain specifically selected unique microbial strains to help reduce nutrient losses, improve bunk life and improve digestibility of forages. Microbial silage inoculants are important tools in silage production that can minimize nutrient losses and help produce high-quality silage. This means improved animal efficiency and more profitability for the producer

Individual cultures or blends are available as flash frozen in liquid nitrogen in cans or as freeze-dried powder in foil packs packed in various sizes based on batch size.

  • Lactobacillus plantarum
  • Streptococcus faecium
  • Pediococcus acidilactici
  • Lactobacillus brevis
  • Lactococcus lactis
  • Propionibacterium shermanii

We have come up with a new and revolutionary concept of using probiotic cultures.
